Much Needed Smoothie

Phew! It’s hot out there today! My Monday started off wonderfully with a sweaty workout. I think the 9 hours of sleep I got helped me out quite a bit :). This morning I took the 6am Gravity class followed by 30 minutes of a spinning class. It felt great to set a healthy tone for the week.
For breakfast I enjoyed a Vitamin Amy classic. Oats!
My bowl of oats included:
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- A splash of vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Jif + 1 tsp. Peanut Butter & Co. cinnamon raisin swirl
- A sprinkle of chopped walnuts
So good!
After I got out of work, I ran a couple errands around town and worked up quite the sweat, yikes! I was also doing some fall clothes shopping which included trying on a few sweaters…not the best day to do that! I needed something cold and delicious when I got home. A smoothie was in order!
Into the blender went:
- Frozen strawberries
- Frozen blueberries
- 1 plum
- A splash of grapefruit juice
- A splash of H2O
This is an amazing smoothie! I never use any added sugar, yogurt, milk, etc. to my smoothies. I love the simplicity of fresh fruit and a tiny bit of 100% juice. Very refreshing and nutritious!
Tonight, I am off to Lucy & Rory’s engagement party! I am super excited to see everyone and celebrate such a wonderful couple. And eat lots of delicious food :-D.
Question the afternoon: What do you like in your smoothies?
Cloudy Lunchtime

It’s a cloudy day in Saratoga. Luckily, I am inside and keeping dry! I got a ton of things checked off my work to-do list and I’m feelin’ good :-D.
My mom made extra taco meat last night so I could use it for my lunch today. She’s always thinking of me :). Today’s lunch features taco salad. My salad includes: romaine, frisee (fancy schmancy lettuce), red pepper, and taco meat.
Colorful and nutritious!
Sandwich thin on the side. I need my carbs!
Perfect plum.
Tuesday’s lunch and a delicious one at that.
This day is flying right by! I’m more than a little jealous of all the people coming in for massages today…while I sit at the reception desk all day in a horrid chair. Not fair! I must get a massage before I move away before the stress of grad school sets in once again. I start classes in about a month whoa!
Question of the afternoon: Do you get massages? If so, how often?
I get massages every now and then but they are incredibly expensive. I wish I could go more often but I have more important things to pay for at the moment…like kitchen stuff for my new apartment!
