Apple Picking Adventure

What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than going apple picking with a bunch of lovely ladies? :-). Kathryn, a second year nutrition grad student and avid healthy living blog reader, suggested we all get together and do something that wasn’t school-related. Good idea!
We headed to Abbott Farms, right outside of Syracuse, to pick apples and get some treats of course! Nutrition students need sweets too ;-).
We had a little trouble getting to the good apples at first, they were all on the top of the apple trees!
Posing amongst the apple trees.
We got tons of apples! Next stop, the petting zoo?
He was definitely smiling for the picture.
We then loaded up on sweet treats – cookies, fudge, candy and ice cream! Sounds really healthy, right?

I picked up some chocolate covered raisins as well as a pumpkin spice cookie, apple filling cookie, chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter cookie (my fav!). My parents are coming this weekend so I thought it would be nice to have some fall treats for them to enjoy while they are here :-).
Today was so much fun! I’m finally getting comfortable here and am so glad to have such wonderful people in my program. It’s officially the weekend!
Question of the night: Do you plan on going apple picking this fall?
