Before heading out for a fun day, I made a quick french toast breakfast. I wanted to make banana french toast but there weren’t any. Instead, I scrambled up a few eggs with cinnamon and vanilla and got to work.
Multigrain english muffin with cinnamon, vanilla, walnuts and a little peanut butter on top.
This was so good, I didn’t even miss the syrup!
Troy and I headed up to Lake George today so soak up some sun and enjoy a nice day at the beach. We got to Million Dollar Beach around 10:30am this morning to get a good spot on the sand!

It wasn’t very busy at all when we got there, but around noon the whole beach was full! We went in for several swims because it was steaming hot. The sand was so hot I think we both got 1st degree burns on the bottoms of our feet!
For lunch we packed a little picnic of our own. I made turkey and cheese sandwiches and brought along some tortilla chips and other snacks. We brought a separate cooler for drinks. I must have had 3 bottles of water in a 3 hour period.

Tortilla chips! Yeah it’s family size…don’t judge!
After we had our fill of sun, we headed into the village of Lake George to look around the shops and take advantage of the AC 😉 We passed a lot of ice cream places but the lines were extremely long and there was no frozen yogurt.
There are steamboats that leave from the village docks for tours of the lake that are so big and beautiful. There were 3 boats running today.
We had such a great day. It felt like a mini-vacation being at the beach!
On a very exciting note, I got an extremely special phone call today at the beach. It was from our friend Lucy whose apartment we are watching. She called all the way from Ireland to tell us that Rory had proposed to her last night! They are getting married! Yay! I’m so happy for both of them and can’t wait to celebrate when they get home!
