The wedding was a blast! Everyone had so much fun celebrating Tara and Pat’s big day. The ceremony started at 1pm at St. Mary’s church in downtown Ballston Spa – about 15 minutes from Saratoga Springs. The church was a perfect setting and the ceremony was beautiful.
After the ceremony ended, we had about 3 hours before the reception started at the Gideon Putnam in Saratoga. We decided to go back to Rory and Lucy’s apartment to hang out and watch some of the World Cup before getting ready to take the shuttle to the reception. We went to a nearby hotel where most of the out-of-town guests were staying to take the shuttle. No sense driving when you have a free ride! Before the shuttle arrived, the four of us decided to have a mini photo shoot by the fountain in front of the hotel.

Lucy and I…we should definitely be in a fashion blog!
On our way to the reception…let the shenanigans begin!
When we arrived at the Gideon, cocktail hour was in full swing! Open bar and lots of appetizers! I didn’t photograph any appetizers but they offered the usual – bruschetta, veggies & dip, cheese & crackers, stuffed mushrooms, etc.
We also had to find our table/seating arrangement. Found it!
Before dinner started, Tara and Pat shared their first dance together as husband and wife. She looked stunning!
Time for toasts! One of the red wine glasses was for Lucy 🙂
Waiting for our salads
Blurry bread and butter
For my entree, Troy and I originally both chose the sole florentine but the waitress asked us what we wanted again and I changed my mind last minute and got the citrus chicken. That way, we could try two things!
Citrus chicken with potatoes and veggies. The sauce was very citrus-y and delicious!
Troy’s sole florentine. It was stuffed with spinach and something that tasted like cheesy breading. It was yummy!
Dessert was vanilla ice cream and wedding cake! Yellow cake + vanilla frosting
The ice cream looked delicious but I didn’t end up eating any.
Cake. I only had 1 bite of cake! I was too busy dancing with Troy! Sadly, there was no documentation of our crazy dance moves, on my camera at least…
Troy’s cake face.
We must have danced the whole night! My tootsies hurt so bad by the time 10:30 rolled around. We took the shuttle back into town where the car was parked and called it a night. A lot of our friends were ready to keep partying but Troy and I were tired from dancing like maniacs 🙂 What a great night it was!
Breakfast to come!
