Dinner at Pacific Grill

Last night, a bunch of us went out to eat at Pacific Grill.  There was a total of 8 of us!  Before walking down to the restaurant, Troy and I met our friends Lucy and Rory at their apartment which is conveniently located downtown!  I had a pre-dinner glass of wine and lots of kisses from their adorable lab Ruby.

We made our way to the restaurant at about 8:30pm and met the rest of our friends there.  The decor of the restaurant was Asian-inspired yet contemporary.  The dining room was open and spacious and also had an outdoor patio.  We stayed inside because it was chilly and rainy 😦

The menu had different sections for Chinese, Japanese, Sushi and Thai cuisine.  That made for a really large menu…I think it was 7 or 8 pages long!  Thankfully, about half of us went online ahead of time to check out the menu and get an idea of what we wanted to eat!

For drinks, sake and Japanese beer dominated the table.  But I stuck with a glass of red wine!

We then enjoyed complimentary fried chinese noodles with duck sauce.  The duck sauce was a little too sweet for me.

Me and my noodle

To start, we all shared edamame and pan-fried pork dumplings, very yummy!

Troy and I split one

My entree was a cup of egg drop soup and Szechaun chicken with vegetables!

Egg drop soup.  I liked the consistency and texture of the soup but I thought it was a bit underseasoned.

Szechaun chicken – it was spicy!

With a side of brown rice

Other beautiful sushi creations and dishes from the night

Rory’s crispy pork – I had a bite, so good!

Troy’s sushi plate!  From left to right —> eel + avocado rolls, Nigiri sushi – red snapper and mackerel over white rice, yellowtail + scallions wrapped in seaweed!

More dishes

Fortune cookie!

Lucy got 2 fortune’s!  Lucky girl!

I would go here again simply to try other menu items, there were so many!  We also had really great service.

Breakfast to come!
